Privacy, cookies and children's data
This site sets no cookies, runs no third-party scripts and collects no personal information — with exactly one exception: if you type your email address into the newsletter box, we have your email address.

The worksheet maker
Everything runs inside your own browser. The questions are generated on your device. If you type a child's name in so it prints at the top of the sheet, that name never leaves your computer — there is nowhere for it to be sent. Close the tab and it is gone.
Why there is no cookie banner
Because there are no cookies. Under the UK and EU rules on cookies (PECR in the UK, the ePrivacy Directive in the EU) consent is required to store or read information on your device. We store nothing, so there is nothing to consent to. A banner asking permission to do nothing would be theatre.
If you are in the UK or the EU
The UK GDPR and the EU GDPR apply to us in respect of the one thing we hold, which is newsletter email addresses. In plain terms:
- Who holds it. Pencil Pocket (a site run by Chaitanya Somavajhala). Contact hello@pencilpocket.com.
- What we hold. Your email address. Nothing else — not a name, not your child's age, not which sheets you printed.
- Why we may hold it. Your consent, given by typing it in and confirming the link we email you. That is the only lawful basis we rely on.
- How long. Until you unsubscribe, which deletes it. There is a one-click link at the bottom of every email.
- Who else sees it. Our email provider, purely to deliver the email. Nobody else, ever. We do not sell, rent or share lists.
- Your rights. Access, correction, deletion, portability and withdrawal of consent. Email us and we will do it, usually the same week. You do not need a reason.
- Complaints. In the UK, the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk). In the EU, your national data protection authority.
If you never sign up for the newsletter, we hold nothing about you at all, and there is nothing for you to exercise any of those rights over.
Children
This site is built for adults — parents, carers and teachers — who then print things for children. We do not offer child accounts, we do not ask children for anything, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13 (or under the higher age that applies where you live). If you believe a child has somehow sent us information, tell us and we will delete it.
This is also why there are no advertisements anywhere on the site, including on pages a child might be looking at while they work.
Analytics, specifically
If aggregate page counts are switched on, they are cookieless and collect no information capable of identifying you or your device. We do not use Google Analytics, and we do not intend to — adding it would force a consent banner onto a site that currently does not need one.
Written in plain language on purpose. It reflects how the site is actually built, which you can verify: view the page source and you will find no third-party requests. Before launch it should still be reviewed against the law where you operate.
